Taavi Oramo

Taavi Oramo is a conductor, singer, clarinettist and electronic musician. In 2018, he conducted orchestras including the Lahti Symphony and the Finnish Radio Symphony, and he has conducted the premieres of chamber operas by Heinz-Juhani Hofmann, Lauri Kilpiö and others. As a singer, he has been the soloist with, among others, the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra and the Finnish Baroque Orchestra, and in 2018 he was the Young Vocal Soloist of the Year of the Päivi and Paavo Lipponen Foundation. He has been the producer of numerous events, such as the dance work Varjele for the Helsinki Festival in 2017, the Eloa Festival in 2015–2017 and the Miksei festival in 2016. His work with live electronics has mainly been confined to the Tölöläb ensemble.
