Heinz-Juhani Hofmann is a composer known for his vocal works addressing difficult topics and his extremely high-impact idiom. His new opera, The Square, is about an uprising, the feelings and issues behind it. Acting as the mob are singers from the Helsinki Chamber Choir. The Stage Director is Heta Aho and the Conductor Taavi Oramo.

The opera is not recommended for children under the age of 13. The language of the opera is Finnish.
The performance includes smoke and intense lightning.
